TM7, for the Love of Buds.

Now, we don't get a lot of exciting earbuds news these days simply because they are considered by many as a dated design. IEM with its multi-drivers design and potent isolation is the future - however, that doesn't means we have seen the last day of earbuds just yet. Enter the new TM7, the new flagship from Blox, one of the most acclaimed earbuds specialist brand among audiophile earbuds users. It will be officially launched in August 1st, price is yet to be announced (Update: it is about US$150 shipped). I already have a pair at hand and review will be posted before the weekend, so stay tuned.

[REVIEW] HiSound Audio's RoCoo-P

RoCoo-P, or previously known as the RoCoo-D Power Edition, is the re-launch of HiSound Audio (HSA) to the world. For those who don’t know about HSA, they are a small, audiophile orientated DAP company specializes in marrying the popular SigmaTel STMP series based DAP design with powerful proprietary amp section. They have made their name with the AMP3 player on Head-fi a few years ago but have since been quite quiet in the international market until the release of RoCoo-P and Studio V a few months ago.

Urban Raver

Announced early last month, Denon finally is ready to start shipping its new dual 11.5mm dynamic transducer IEM, the AH-C30 - or as Denon like you to remember, the 'Urban Raver', as this is an IEM designed for the bass loving Hip-Hop listener. The huge housing certainly looks very street-cool, but the important bit is the two big dynamic drivers which are referred as the 'double air compression drivers'. You should be able to find review of the new IEM on a few big review sites (just google), and prepare to pay US$250 if you want one.

The Sound Choice - an Illustration of Sonic Relationship

This illustration is by no mean the be-all-end-all of sonic guideline, but it could serve as a quick and easily understandable visual reference for novice to pick a sound signature that is more subjectively preferable (and can be referenced back to my Concise Multi-IEM Comparison) No IEM is perfect, and certainly no IEM can have everything (even though a very few do get close). The idea is to start with one of the six sound signature that is most preferable to you, then look for other traits that could fit into your taste.

Three Drivers Hybrid

Though demo unit has been passed around in the community for a while now, Aurisonics, the company that gains its fame from its ASG-1 'half-custom-half-universal' dynamic IEM, has formally announced the release of the company new flagship, the AS-2 Hybrid IEM. It features a single dynamic transducer for mid and bass and dual balanced armature transducers for treble, presumably in a two-ways configuration. Prepare to pay US$800 for one.
